Extend the Life of your Roller Surfaces
American Roller’s Plasma Coatings extend the life of roller surfaces and reduces maintenance cleaning time with dual layer Plasma Coatings Technology.
Plasma Coatings has been an industry leader in the custom application of specialty surface materials, since 1969. Throughout the years, we have developed and improved our coatings to offer the wear and abuse resistance of thermal spray materials such as Tungsten Carbide with high release polymers like Teflon ® .
These properties address high wear problems while preventing product build-up, drastically reducing cleaning time, and avoiding production shutdowns. In addition to extending the life of roller surfaces, our Plasma Coatings technology keeps carbon in the steel from leaching out onto belts or other equipment which can cause distortion or residue build-up.
The porosity of the Metal Matrix will allow the Release Polymer to migrate into the Metal matrix creating superior bond strength. As the coating wears, not only is the polymer in the valleys exposed, the polymer impregnated into the metal matrix is also exposed. This yields a highly durable coating that retains excellent release properties throughout the life of the system.
Plasma Coatings Technology Provides:
- Coatings are applied with techniques that heat particles to a semi-molten state and then propel the coatings onto a prepared substrate.
- Bond strengths of up to 12,000 PSI are generated dependent upon the material and method of applications.
- Coatings provide desired surface properties but does not change part strength or integrity.
- Part temperature does not exceed 200-250°F during thermal application.
Acceptable Substrates:
Most of our coatings may be applied to materials with a Rockwell C hardness of 50 or less.
- Cast Iron
- Aluminum
- Steel/SST
- Brass
- Composites
- Plastics
