General Information

PT-MAT™ CO 21 PTA is a cobalt based metal powder used for corrosion resistant coatings. the weld overlay exhibit high strength and excellent corrosion resistance in a wide range of temperatures. Structure is carbide in a cobalt chrome molybdenum alloy.


PT-MAT™ CO 21 PTA is applied through plasma powder surfacing or laser cladding on low alloy to high alloy steel. Typical applications are equipment with metal to metal wear (valves seats, gates etc.). The alloy also exhibit excellent cavitations and thermal shock resistance.

Density: 8.33 g/cm3 / 0.301 lb/in3
Apparent density (Hall): 4.7 g/cm3
Flow rate (Hall): 14-15 seconds
Melting temperature: 2360-2615°F (1295-1435°C).
Typical sizing available: 45-150 microns (+325-100 mesh) or 53-180 microns (+270-80 mesh).
